Kelsey Burns

Kelsey is a dancer, choreographer, and movement director based in New York City. Most recently, she served as Associate Choreographer to Emily Maltby and Valeria Solomonoff on the revival of Evita at American Repertory Theatre and Shakespeare Theatre Company (directed by Sammi Cannold). Trained in flamenco, jazz, contemporary, and latin dance, Kelsey competed in ballroom and salsa early in her career, becoming a finalist in American Rhythm ballroom and ultimately ranking 9th in the world in salsa on-1. Kelsey has worked with Cirque du Soleil, NYC Dance Week, Cecilia Marta Dance Company, and Revolución Latina. A former company dancer with Cerqua Rivera Dance Theatre (Chicago), she currently dances with Movement of the People Dance Company and Thistle Dance. Since graduating from NYU Gallatin, she has held residencies at NYU, Mare Nostrum Elements (NY), Princeton Day School (NJ), Taipei American School (Taiwan), and Esthètes à Klak (France). Kelsey's film project, "The Coronation" created with director Emily Penick, has won awards in film festivals around the world. Follow along @kelsinmotion for updates and classes.
