Kelsey is a dancer, choreographer and collaborator based in New York City.
Kelsey Burns has performed in venues such as the Performing Garage, House of Yes, the Jerry Labowitz Theatre, and the Center for Performance Research, among others. Her diverse dance background includes flamenco, musical theatre, tap, modern, jazz, ballet, contemporary, salsa, and American Rhythm ballroom, and has greatly informed Kelsey’s approach to choreographing for theatre and devising work from the ground up. She has worked with Cirque du Soleil, the Cecilia Marta Dance Company, the New Dance Collective, and the NYC Dance Project, a dance-photography collaboration. Kelsey has served as choreographer for both classical and contemporary productions, from Shakespeare and Molière to Duncan Sheik’s Spring Awakening, and Michael John LaChiusa’s Little Fish, which she co-directed with Audra Labrosse. Kelsey graduated from NYU’s Gallatin School of Individualized Study where she studied the integration of dance, theatre, and performed narratives.
Kelsey also freelances in technical production as a carpenter and electrician. She is available for tutoring in English, Spanish, French, Writing, and Executive Function for children of all ages.
