After a 16-week run at A.R.T. in Cambridge, Sammi Cannold’s groundbreaking revival of Evita transfers to Shakespeare Theatre Company in Washington D.C. In a production The Boston Globe hails as “EXCEPTIONAL…A new generation’s take on Evita,” the story of Eva Perón’s meteoric rise to First Lady of Argentina is brought to life with heart and spectacle.

Opening Night September 8th, 2023 at 7:30pm

Currently serving as Associate Choreographer on this revival of Evita, Andrew Lloyd Webber and Tim Rice’s Tony Award-winning rock opera. Evita follows the adored and reviled Eva Perón’s meteoric rise from an impoverished childhood to first lady of Argentina until her death at 33. Directed by Sammi Cannold and choreographed by Emily Maltby and Valeria Solomonoff, this eagerly anticipated revival featuring unforgettable songs including “Buenos Aires” and “Don’t Cry for Me Argentina” explores how we make sense of contradictions in legacy.

In this touring production of Shakespeare’s classic for Hudson Valley Shakespeare Festival, two star-crossed souls collide and fall fast in love, only to take their own lives in a tragic twist of fate. This music-driven, 90-minute production features heightened theatricality and original alt-rock anthems that will engage audiences and bring a fresh perspective to a familiar story. Narrated by Benvolio, an unsuccessful peacemaker, Romeo and Juliet is a lesson in loss, destiny, loyalty – and most importantly, love.

I am SUPER excited to participate in a long-running Broadway tradition this year for an incredible organization. Come see me dance and help support Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDs

Broadway Bares is an amazing evening of performances and full out dancing, all with a healthy dose of exposed skin. Produced by Broadway Care/Equity Fights AIDSs, this show is an incredibly effective fundraiser, and all the money raised goes to support families, provide lifesaving medications, nutritious meals, health care, counseling, emergency financial assistance and so much more to men, women and children in all 50 states living with HIV/AIDS and other life-threatening illnesses.

NYC Dance Week Kick-Off Event with Summer in the Square

Time: 10-11:30 AM and 5:00 – 6:15 PM
Where: Union Square South Plaza & West Side Seating Area, Manhattan

In partnership with the Union Square Partnership, NYC Dance Week invites all dance enthusiasts and the general public to its Manhattan Kick-Off Performance event with free performances and dance classes.  There will be a kids hip hop class at 10 AM with Angel Kaba and a performance event at 5 PM with Kelsey Burns’s company & Angel Kaba’s company, followed by an adult Latin dance class by Kelsey Burns.
