Cape Dance Festival was conceived by two longtime performing arts professionals, Stacey-Jo Marine and Liz Wolff, whose passion for dance and ability to organize arts and media events has been proven over their twenty-year career span. Co-founder Liz Wolff says, "We are seeking to form community relationships through the enjoyment of dance and are dedicated to bringing world-class dance to the residents and visitors of Cape Cod through education, altruism, and performance."

Rhythm Flow with Kelsey and Abdiel

Join us for Rhythm Flow at the Martha Graham School in NYC every Thursday from 7pm - 8:30pm!

Picture rhythmical ballroom dancers dancing without their partners -- solo -- but with a contemporary spin. In Rhythm Flow, we reference the rhythm and latin ballroom dance technique of chacha, rumba, mambo, swing, bolero, paso doble, and samba, and combine it with contemporary/modern dance vocabularies. Uniting the ballroom and modern dance forms, we embrace a symbiotic flow between the two languages to foster individualized, organic expression for each dancer. Structural elements of class will include floor work, center and across the floor, and choreography/phrase work. Recommended for intermediate/advanced dancers.

  • Single class is $18
  • 5 class card $85.50

Dance for Haiti

Come see Kelsey and Abdiel perform along with Breton Tyner Bryan of Breton Follies at Dance for Haiti on December 6th, 2016!

Dance for Haiti is a benefit performance, featuring dancers of the Martha Graham Dance Company and various guest artists. In early October, Haiti was struck by hurricane Matthew, leaving over 1,000 dead and more than 2 million in need of assistance.

The Martha Graham Dance Company was scheduled to perform in Haiti at the end of October, but the devastation caused by Hurricane Matthew meant that those performances had to be postponed until 2017.  The dancers decided to take action and do whatever possible to help Haiti, so we are going to do what we do best – Dance for Haiti!

This December we will host a benefit performance to raise money for Haiti. You can help us raise funds by attending the live performance or, for a small donation, you can watch event via livestream. All proceeds will go directly to help the Haitian people rebuild their communities.

Common Roots Project

Common Roots represents a diverse and contemporary collective of current and former dancers with the Graham Company, who have each developed our own creative visions as performing artists, directors, and choreographers that have lead us to perch upon many different branches within the great tree of dance.  This project seeks to illuminate these different visions, while at the same time paying homage to our Graham roots, our common dance ancestor that continues to nourish us.  How is it that we carry forward our Graham teachings in our creative process?  Indeed these impulses run deeply through the bodymind! And what happens when we merge this intelligence with other forms of dance, theatre, cultures, or ways of knowing? Join us on March 19th and 20th to find out!
